Estelle and Solange

Ever wondered what Beyonce looks like taking a dump?? No? Anyone? Ok, not that I wonder but after watching this Solange video, you kind of get the picture. Please know that I am not promoting this video because I like Solange ( I have no beef, just don’t care for her…right now) but because I will be seeing her tonight in concert along with Estelle. This song and video T.O.N.Y is actually pretty good and well put together. After hearing this song it’s obvious who penned a lot of the good Destinys Child and Beyonce songs. Not that there is anything wrong with the now Websters defined “Bootlicious” penned by Beyonce, but Solange does have the potential to be place on the wall of great song writers ( Neo, The Dream, Faith Evans). Shout out to Kid Cudi who appears to be the “Baby Daddy” of the video. And of course, my love Cee-Lo for the production.





“Who killin em in the UK, everybody gonna say you K”! Not this time Mr. West. I’m telling you, I love Kanye, but how does he manage to feature on another artist song, but yet make it all about him? Oh well! Estelle is actually killing em in the UK. She’s one of London’s most popular acts right now and my favorite breakout artist of 2008. I didn’t hear too many new artist in 2008, but of the few I did hear, her 2nd LP album, Shine was the only new artist I could listen to without any skips (Jazmine Sullivan is fantastic, but my award goes to Estelle). Now, you’re probably wondering how is she the new artist of ’08. Technically she isn’t. She did drop a previous album in 2004, but since it didn’t make it’s way mainstream to the states, it’s new to me. To add to the credibility of a Mr. Cocky's co-sign, she also produced by six time Grammy award winner, John Legend. With these guys backing her up, her talent is definitely in the house and she will not just be a one hit wonder!
